Marie Scherzer is a versatile Berlin-based choreographer, Movement Director, Movement Coach, and Creative Director.
She has been responsible for the choreography and Movement Direction of acclaimed German television series and feature films, including Julia von Heinz’s “Eldorado KaDeWe” and Chris Kraus’s “15 Jahre”. She has also developed choreography and movement work for international brands, streaming platforms, broadcasters, and production companys including Mercedes-Benz, Netflix, Audi, BMW, Armani Beauty, L’Oréal, Chanel, Dior, Tiffany & Co., VOGUE Germany, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, Disney+, Warner Bros., Constantin Film, TOBIS, ARD, ZDF, NDR, ARTE, YouTube, Nike, CUPRA, and Adidas.
Her current projects in 2026 include choreography and Movement Direction for the VOGUE short film “Love Is All Around You”, Movement Direction for Julia von Heinz’s new film “Das Kind in dir muss Heimat finden”, and Live Show Creative Direction for the band «2raumwohnung».
Marie is a member of the European Film Academy and the New York Film Academy. She delivers international masterclasses such as “The Artistry of Body Language: Storytelling Through Movement”, including as part of the Cyprus Film Festival, the Cannes Film Festival and La Biennale di Venezia aka Venice Film Festival. She also serves as Creative Director of Performing Arts at the Garbicz Festival in Poland.
As a Movement Director, she has collaborated with award-winning actors including Albrecht Schuch, Mala Emde, and Lia von Blarer on numerous film and television projects. She also directs and choreographs the live shows and tours of the German electropop duo 2raumwohnung.
Her career in performance and dance began at the age of five at Tanztheater Jena, where she trained and danced for 13 years. At 18, immediately after completing her Abitur in Thuringia, she moved from Jena to Berlin to study acting and musical theatre. Alongside her studies, she began working as an actor and performer in a variety of commercial, film, and television productions. At the same time, she established herself as a choreographer and Creative Director within Berlin’s performing arts scene.
Marie also works as a Creative Director, booker, and choreographer for performances within Berlin’s club culture. She has choreographed live shows for events and festivals including Berlin Christopher Street Day, Karneval der Kulturen Berlin, Fusion Festival, Garbicz Festival, Pop-Kultur Berlin, Bucht der Träumer*, Reeperbahn Festival, and Melt Festival.
She has also developed choreography and Movement Direction for numerous music videos and productions by artists including 2raumwohnung, Peggy Gou, Magit Cacoon, Solomun, Fatoni, Inga Humpe, MALONDA, Kraftklub, Bloodhound Gang, and MAJAN, as well as for various television productions.
Although Marie followed formal training paths in dance theatre, musical theatre and acting, she considers the dance floors of Berlin’s club, where she worked for many years, to be her most important teacher and an endless source of inspiration for body language, movement, and physical storytelling. These experiences have shaped her artistic approach and continue to profoundly influence her work as a choreographer, Movement Director and Movement Coach.
